Privileged Soul

‘A Place To “Reflect”‘ Photographic Print by Elizabeth Burton

On the nights of a full moon, this sacred tree opens a realm for only the most privileged to see. The glow of the moon shines elegantly in the deepening black sky. I pause for a moment to take in the sight. I shiver and know the time has come to take my place before the tree. I stand with my arms open wide and wait for the moon’s light to stream through the tree’s branches. It begins slowly and then all at once is ablaze.

The reflection of the tree in the water reassures me that I am one of the chosen. I feel the power within stemming from the never-ending light of the moon, as the light enters into me. My once sadden and overwhelmed soul is instantly rejuvenated. The pain and suffering from being lost in this journey of life is gone. My anguish of being alone in the world, relieved. I know my place now. I belong here. I know I have a purpose and though I do not know what the full intent of it is I know I soon will.
